Peace Dove - Florence House Project

Here are some work in progress photos of my Mosaic Peace Dove for the Florence House in Portland, Maine.

The Florence House is a home for women who have been chronically homeless and need a break to get back on their feet.

Here is a video about the Florence House...

The Piece Makers Mosaic Artists on Etsy are creating these doves, I believe around twenty of them to be installed inside their home by Mosaic Artist
Amanda Edwards.

Have a great weekend!  Hope to have a finished Peace Dove photo soon!

Emma's First Pot Holder...

Emma is my sweet six and a half year old daughter.  She was home sick last week with pneumonia. So when she was feeling better all she wanted to do was crafts. She is a little artist you know...always wanting to cut & paste, paint or draw.  Really anything that is messy!
So I looked in our craft closet and found this weaving loom that she received for Christmas!  I started to read the directions to her and before I knew it she was off.  Finished in no time flat.
Finishing the pot holder was a little more complicated though.
What a great craft...she loved it and is already asking do another!
Thank goodness she recovered very quickly!

Emma with her finished pot holder!

She was so proud!
(And there is our dog trying to find something for himself, lol!)

Mosaic Mermaid...Almost finished!

My Mosaic Mermaid is finally ready for grout.  I have been working on this for months now, and so happy she is finished.  By this coming weekend she will be hanging outside on my lanai by the pool.
This is the first project I have made for myself in a long time!
I still have to decide on grout colors to use.  And of course, I am debating on using more than one color for different sections, like her tail and hair.  I have never used more than one color grout before.  So it should be interesting.

I can't wait to see how she looks!

Have a safe 4th of July Celebration!
